RECIPESIn a world wide study when these key words were mentioned ... BBQ Spare ribs, Teriyaki cooked salmon, Peppercorn lamb shanks, Chilli and cheese nachos and Garlic dipped crayfish the results were all the same........ a big line of drool out the left side of the mouth!!
Bite Me Food Teriyaki SalmonWe like to use a nice tail piece of salmon for this recipe. They are really tasty and most importantly, the big tails don’t have those pesky bones. Cover the bottom of a frying pan with our Teriyaki Sauce (garlic & ginger). Place the salmon skin side down into the pan and cook on a medium heat. Cook approximately 6-7 minutes on each side depending on how rare you would like it.(or a third through at the thick end on both sides) When you flip the salmon to cook the other side, peel off the skin and maybe pour a little more sauce on it. The trick is to turn up the heat at the very end of cooking to caramelize the sauce. Serve the salmon with rice and salad. Pour the remaining sauce from the pan over your salmon and Enjoy!! The Real Deal BBQ RibsThis is the best way to make New Zealand BBQ ribs! (well we think so anyway!) There are no shortcuts. Go to your local butcher and ask for pork ribs cut in half so the ribs aren’t so long and tell him to leave a decent amount of meat on it. Boil the ribs for 45-90 minutes, depending on how tender you like them. The bones should easily pull out away from the meat. The longer you boil them the more tender. A little tip. Put a little sauce in the water when you boil. The flavour will be absorbed by the ribs. Remove from the water. Pat dry and baste with New Zealand BBQ Sauce. The maple hickory smoke is designed to be on ribs so we recommend using that one (or the chili or the peppercorn... hee hee they are all good) Now really baste the ribs all over, leaving not a spot uncovered. Place on the BBQ and CONTINUE to baste while cooking (this part is the most important). Cook until the sauce is caramelized to your liking, And Enjoy, you can thank us later! Healthy Pizza with Maple Hickory Smoked New Zealand BBQ SauceUsing a flour tortilla, spoon the New Zealand BBQ sauce on and spread evenly. Use cooked, cubed or shredded chicken, spring onions, caramelised onions and mozzarella cheese (or your favourite cheese, we love feta). Salt n pepper. Place in the oven and cook for just under 10 minutes at about 200 degrees. Just until the outside edges of the tortilla have begun to crisp. Or try some of these other toppings. Cubed teriyaki salman with feta cheese and capers. Sliced roma tomatos, sliced red green and yellow sweet peppers, red onion, olives, mushrooms, feta, pine nuts (or your favorite nuts) Just experiment, because it all tastes great with our BBQ sauce !! Other things we love to do with our sauces.....With the teriyaki, try pouring it over chicken pieces and placing them in an oven bag, and then slow cooking them. You will end up with tender pieces of chicken caramelized in the teriyaki sauce. OR Take a whole onion and cut it into rings, put them in a non stick pan and cook them with the teriyaki until soft and caramelized. With the New Zealand BBQ sauce, try throwing a dash into your next spaghetti dish. Or use it in your next crock pot dish and slow cook with it for 5 or 6 hours. Try venison, its delicious. Pepper-corned lamb shanks is another yummy treat. While we love to cook all these dishes the way we have told you, we can't stand over you and help you make them. So, if anything goes wrong don't blame us! We do not take any responsibility for your culinary skills (not even our elves can help you there, we're afraid!) We are, however, learning new dishes all the time and would love to hear how you use our sauces. Please feel free to share and maybe we could post them on our recipe page for others to enjoy! |
